All Things Tea is just one of the
unique shops in Belmont Village

Susan Broughton says tea lovers shouldn’t have to settle for what’s on the grocery store shelf.
Her shop, All Things Tea, carries over 250 blends of tea from around the world.
“My husband and I have always been tea lovers,” Susan said of their reason for opening the store in 2006. They have a three year old son named Matias.
   And their timing was good.
Susan said she’s seen an increased interest in tea since they opened, both in Kitchener and throughout Canada.  Health studies have suggested that some types of tea help fight cancer and diabetes, boost mental alertness and possess natural anti-biotic properties.
“People are taking tea more seriously now,” Susan said.
Not only does All Things Tea have teas from around the world, they also blend some of their own unique teas for the store. In celebration of the wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton, Susan created  Kate and William’s blend, which has been so popular that she has continued to sell it long after the April wedding.
To go along with your blend, All Things Tea has every accessory you could need, from pots to infusers to measuring spoons.
“We have everything you need to make a good cup, or pot, of tea,” Susan said.
You can’t drink some of their other products, but you’ll love them if you love tea. Susan sells tea-infused jellies made by Ro Cober, who owns Log Cabin Heaven Bed and Breakfast in Elora. She has pots made by Sue Cornell of the Waterloo Potters’ Guild. And there are tea-infused soaps that are all organic.
Susan also loves to cook and sells her own baking. Because of her love of cooking, she has started selling top quality spices at the shop.
“Tea and spice are very married,” Susan said. “The spices we sell are the best spices I’ve come across."
They can also blend spices together.
Susan really has a passion for tea and holds “tea talks and tastings” with subjects like the health benefits of tea or blending teas.
She even creates tea favours for weddings.
All Things Tea will be holding its 6th annual Christmas Open House on November 6 from noon to 4pm. There will be tea samples, giveaways, gift draws, music and 10 percent off everything in the store.
The store is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm. and Sundays from 11am to 4pm. * * *
All Things Tea is located at 681 Belmont Avenue West in Kitchener.  They can be found on Facebook and you can follow them on Twitter. They are unveiling a new website which should be up in about two weeks. The address is www.all-things-tea.com.
